ALMA MATER
In the Mississippi Valley,
In the Crescent Bend
Stands our loved and noble Xavier,
Far her praises send.
Refrain:
Wave her colors bear them onward
Gold and white so true
Hail to thee, all hail, dear Xavier
Hail, all hail, X.U.!
Xavier, ever be our guide
And lead us on the way,
Through life's journey, onward, upward
To the eternal day. (Refrain)

Results
MOBILE, Ala. — Xavier University of Louisiana won
five matches without losing a game Friday and rolled to a 6-0 victory over Spring Hill
in the semifinals of the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Tournament at Copeland-Cox
Tennis Center.
The Gold Rush, No. 18 in the NAIA coaches poll, top-seeded in the
tournament and a two-time defending champion, will play second-seeded Mobile at 6 p.m.
Friday for the championship.
Xavier won all three doubles matches, then clinched the dual when
freshman Steffen Giles-Osborn defeated Johnny Ngamvilay 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 singles.
The victory was Giles-Osborn's seventh in a row, a team best.
Also winning 6-0, 6-0 in singles were Cameron Knowles and
Mario Myles. The Xavier teams of Mikhail Vaval-Matthew Walker and brothers
Sean and Terry Richardson won 8-0 in doubles.
Spring Hill, the No. 4 seed, finished 3-8.
This is the seventh consecutive time the Gold Rush
reached the GCAC final. The streak excludes 2006, when Xavier did not compete
in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
