In the Mississippi Valley,
In the Crescent Bend
Stands our loved and noble Xavier,
Far her praises send.
Refrain:
Wave her colors bear them onward
Gold and white so true
Hail to thee, all hail, dear Xavier
Hail, all hail, X.U.!
Xavier, ever be our guide
And lead us on the way,
Through life's journey, onward, upward
To the eternal day. (Refrain)

Gold Rush 13th, Gold Nuggets 16th in NAIA polls
April 7, 2009
NEW ORLEANS — The Xavier University of
Louisiana men's tennis team remained 13th in the NAIA coaches poll released Tuesday.
The ranking is the highest in program history for the
Gold Rush (13-4), which will carry a five-match win streak into an 8 a.m.
Thursday match at 15th-ranked Shorter in Rome, Ga.
Xavier's women (13-5) are 16th, one spot lower than
their season high in the March 24 rankings. The Gold Nuggets will play Shorter,
ranked 17th, at the same time and place.
Both Xavier teams will play Union (Ky.) at 1 p.m.
Friday at Mount Berry, Ga. — Union's men are unbeaten and ranked 10th, and the
women are 22nd — and the Gold Rush will remain in Mount Berry for a 1 p.m.
Saturday dual against 16th-ranked Berry.
It's the 32nd consecutive ranking, dating to February
2004, that Xavier's women have been in the top 25. The men have been in 15
consecutive rankings dating to April 2007. The Nuggets' streak does not
include 2006, when Xavier did not compete due to the effects of Hurricane
Katrina.
