ALMA MATER
In the Mississippi Valley,
In the Crescent Bend
Stands our loved and noble Xavier,
Far her praises send.
Refrain:
Wave her colors bear them onward
Gold and white so true
Hail to thee, all hail, dear Xavier
Hail, all hail, X.U.!
Xavier, ever be our guide
And lead us on the way,
Through life's journey, onward, upward
To the eternal day. (Refrain)

Shaun Dumas

Dumas is third-team All-America for second time
March 24, 2009
NEW ORLEANS — Shaun Dumas did it again Tuesday.
The Xavier University of Louisiana men's basketball standout
was named third-team NAIA Division I All-America for the second time in three seasons.
|
Dumas, a 5-foot-11 senior guard from New Orleans and a 2004
graduate of St. Augustine High School, is the first Xavier men's basketball player to
make third team or higher twice. Bruce Seals was a first-team All-American in 1972-73,
and Alvin "Bo" Dukes made the third team in 1981-82.
Dumas earned honorable mention as a junior, so Tuesday's honor made him
the only Xavier men's basketball player to receive honorable mention or higher on three NAIA
All-American teams. The other Gold Rush player to do it more than once was Seals.
Dumas averaged 14.7 points, 4.2 assists and 3.2 steals per game in 2008-09
and was the third Gold Rush player in 27 seasons to lead the team in those categories in the same year.
He was a two-time Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week and was All-GCAC a third consecutive season.
Xavier finished 19-12 and tied for fourth place in the GCAC.
