Vaval, Dominguez are GCAC Players of the Week
March 23, 2009
NEW ORLEANS — Mikhail Vaval and Yuliem Dominguez
of Xavier University of Louisiana are Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Players
of the Week in men's and women's tennis for March 16-22.
Both Vaval, the men's winner, and Dominguez were
unbeaten in singles and doubles to help Xavier win GCAC duals at Mobile and
Spring Hill on Saturday and clinch No. 1 seeds for the conference tournament
next month.
Vaval is a sophomore from New Orleans and a graduate
of De La Salle High School. Domingez is a senior from Destrehan, La.,
and a graduate of Destrehan High.
The Gold Rush and Gold Nuggets each have won four
of five GCAC Player of the Week awards this season.
