ALMA MATER
In the Mississippi Valley,
In the Crescent Bend
Stands our loved and noble Xavier,
Far her praises send.
Refrain:
Wave her colors bear them onward
Gold and white so true
Hail to thee, all hail, dear Xavier
Hail, all hail, X.U.!
Xavier, ever be our guide
And lead us on the way,
Through life's journey, onward, upward
To the eternal day. (Refrain)

Richardson honored again; Gold Rush climbs to 14th
March 10, 2009
NEW ORLEANS — Terry Richardson made it two in a
row, and he and his Xavier University of Louisiana men's tennis teammates
reached another new level Tuesday.
Richardson received his second consecutive Gulf Coast
Athletic Conference Player of the Week award after going 1-1 in singles and
2-0 in doubles in dual matches against NCAA Division I opponents New Orleans
and Jackson State. The senior from Ellenwood, Ga., took sole possession
of the team lead with 10 singles victories and nine doubles victories in
2008-09.
This is the first year of GCAC weekly tennis awards,
and Xavier has won all three on the men's side.
Meanwhile, the Gold Rush (8-3) climbed one spot
to No. 14 — the highest ranking in its history — in the NAIA coaches poll.
Xavier's Gold Nuggets (8-3) remained 17th in the women's poll.
Both Xavier teams will compete next in the Auburn
Montgomery Invitational at Montgomery, Ala. The three-day, all-NAIA event
will begin Friday and include seven ranked women's teams and six ranked men's
teams. Pairings will be announced Thursday.
