In the Mississippi Valley,
In the Crescent Bend
Stands our loved and noble Xavier,
Far her praises send.
Refrain:
Wave her colors bear them onward
Gold and white so true
Hail to thee, all hail, dear Xavier
Hail, all hail, X.U.!
Xavier, ever be our guide
And lead us on the way,
Through life's journey, onward, upward
To the eternal day. (Refrain)

Xavier replaces Florida matches with Division I opponents
February 16, 2009
NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana canceled
a trip to Florida for men's and women's tennis matches against two NAIA opponents,
but the Gold Rush and Gold Nuggets added
two matches apiece to their schedules against NCAA Division I opponents.
The Gold Rush, 4-1 and ranked 15th in the NAIA,
added a home match next Sunday (Feb. 22) at 1 p.m. against Florida A&M at
UNO Wow Café Tennis Center. The Gold Nuggets, ranked 18th, added a 1 p.m.
home match April 18 against McNeese State with the venue still to be
announced. And both teams will play Grambling at 2 p.m. on Feb. 25 at a
neutral site: Greenwood Park Tennis Center in Baker, La., a Baton Rouge suburb.
Those duals replace matches Feb. 27 at
Embry-Riddle in Daytona Beach, Fla., and Feb. 28 against Webber
International at Altamonte Springs, Fla.
The next competition for both Xavier teams will be a
pair of Gulf Coast Athletic Conference duals on Saturday at UNO —
Belhaven at 9 a.m. and Tougaloo 1 p.m.
