ALMA MATER
In the Mississippi Valley,
In the Crescent Bend
Stands our loved and noble Xavier,
Far her praises send.
Refrain:
Wave her colors bear them onward
Gold and white so true
Hail to thee, all hail, dear Xavier
Hail, all hail, X.U.!
Xavier, ever be our guide
And lead us on the way,
Through life's journey, onward, upward
To the eternal day. (Refrain)

Price is right in Badgers' win over Gold Rush
January 31, 2009
Box score
MOBILE, Ala. — Jeremy Price scored a season-high
29 points, including a career-high six 3-pointers, to lead Spring Hill to a
65-54 Gulf Coast Athletic Conference men's basketball victory over Xavier
University of Louisiana on Saturday.
The Badgers (9-9 overall, 3-6 GCAC) ended their two-game
losing streak and snapped the five-game winning streak of the Gold Rush (14-7, 6-3).
Xavier began the day tied for first in the conference with Tougaloo and LSU-Shreveport
but fell into a tie for second with Tougaloo and Loyola. Tougaloo lost at Dillard,
Loyola won at SUNO, and LSUS won at home against Mobile.
Shaun Dumas scored 19 points and Kelechi Okoroha 12 for Xavier.
Spring Hill never trailed after Price made two 3-pointers
in the first two minutes for a 6-0 lead. The Badgers led 32-21 at halftime and
twice built the lead to 18 points in the second half. Xavier never came closer
than eight points after halftime.
The Badgers outshot the Gold Rush 50 to 38 percent from
the floor and outscored Xavier 16-6 in free throws.
Dumas scored 17 points, including three 3-pointers, in the
second half, and his basket with 10:40 remaining cut Spring Hill's lead to 50-42.
Price was Spring Hill's only double-figure scorer.
The Rush limited Marcus Coleman — the Badgers' season scoring leader and No. 3 in
NAIA Division I in 3-pointers made per game — to eight points and 2-of-5 from behind the arc.
Coleman entered the game averaging 15.5 points and 4.0 3-pointers.
Spring Hill was the first team in six games to reach
60 points against Xavier.
Xavier's next game will start at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday
against Loyola at The Den.
