Box score

JACKSON, Miss. — Ryan DeRousselle and Michael Harvey each scored 11 points, and Xavier University of Louisiana scored on each of its final four overtime possessions Saturday to grab a 59-56 Gulf Coast Athletic Conference men's basketball victory over NAIA No. 23 Belhaven.
The Gold Rush (9-5 overall, 1-1 GCAC) snapped a two-game losing streak and gave the Blazers (9-4, 1-1) their first home loss in five games this season. Xavier has beaten Belhaven in 20 of the past 23 meetings.
Kelechi Okoroha added 10 points and nine rebounds for Xavier, which led 27-19 at halftime. Belhaven's Krayleon Winston made two free throws with seven seconds remaining to tie the score at 49 and force overtime.
Consecutive 3-pointers by Harvey and Shaun Dumas in overtime erased a three-point deficit and put Xavier ahead to stay, 55-52. DeRouselle preserved the victory by making 4-of-4 free throws in the final 17 seconds.
Xavier is 5-0 in overtime since the start of the 2006-07 season and 2-0 this season.
Korey Whiting led Belhaven with 20 points and 15 rebounds. Winston scored 18, and Iman Walcott had 13.
Both teams will play GCAC opponents at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Xavier will play Tougaloo at The Barn — the first Gold Rush home game in 40 days — and Belhaven will travel to Mobile.
