ALMA MATER
In the Mississippi Valley,
In the Crescent Bend
Stands our loved and noble Xavier,
Far her praises send.
Refrain:
Wave her colors bear them onward
Gold and white so true
Hail to thee, all hail, dear Xavier
Hail, all hail, X.U.!
Xavier, ever be our guide
And lead us on the way,
Through life's journey, onward, upward
To the eternal day. (Refrain)

Harding, Walston repeat as GCAC Runners of the Week
October 14, 2008
NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana cross country standouts
Ebony Harding and Ray Walston are repeat winners of the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Runner of the Week awards.
Harding, a junior from Baton Rouge, La., earned the women's
award for the second time after running 6,000 meters in a school-record 24 minutes, 41.13 seconds
Saturday in the University of Dallas Invitational at Irving, Texas.
She finished second in the race and led the Gold Nuggets to the team championship.
Harding broke the 2003 mark of 24:59.9 held by Katrina Davis. Harding ran 5,000 meters in 20:16
on Sept. 16 to set another Xavier record.
Harding has been Xavier's fastest finisher in all 17 of her collegiate races. She has
yet to win but has four runner-up finishes among her six top-five performances.
Walston, a freshman from Atlanta, received his second GCAC
award after running 8,000 meters in 28:41.17 to win the men's division of the University of Dallas
Invitational. He led the Gold Rush to the team championship.
Xavier, an NAIA member, will compete Saturday in the
Choctaw Open at Clinton, Miss. The women will run 5,000 meters at 9 a.m.,
and the men will run four miles at 9:30 a.m. It will be Xavier's fifth
