Vukicevic is No. 5 in NAIA men's singles

NEW ORLEANS — Miroslav Vukicevic of Xavier University of Louisiana
is No. 5 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's NAIA men's singles
rankings announced Monday.
The ranking is the highest by a Xavier singles player or doubles team,
male or female, in the past 11 seasons.
Vukicevic, a senior from Sombor, Serbia-Montenegro, is 10-7 as Xavier's No.
1 singles player. His most notable victory of the season was 6-4, 6-3
against Fresno Pacific's Matt Carroll — who is No. 2 in the new ratings
— in a dual match on Feb. 17 at Costa Mesa, Calif.
Vukicevic was No. 42 in the ITA's final rankings his freshman year (2003-04)
and No. 28 in the final rankings as a sophomore (2004-05).
Xavier, 10-8 and No. 24 in the NAIA team rankings, will play Friday in
the AUM Invitational at Montgomery, Ala.
