ALMA MATER
In the Mississippi Valley,
In the Crescent Bend
Stands our loved and noble Xavier,
Far her praises send.
Refrain:
Wave her colors bear them onward
Gold and white so true
Hail to thee, all hail, dear Xavier
Hail, all hail, X.U.!
Xavier, ever be our guide
And lead us on the way,
Through life's journey, onward, upward
To the eternal day. (Refrain)

NEW ORLEANS — Alexandra Broussard of Xavier University of Louisiana won the final 10 games of a
7-5, 6-0 decision over Mobile's Camilla Hovden and clinched the Gold Nuggets' 5-4
dual-match victory Thursday at UNO Wow Café Tennis Center.
Xavier's men defeated Mobile 7-2 and clinched the No. 1 seed for the Gulf Coast
Athletic Conference Tournament on April 11-12 at Jackson, Miss.
Broussard's first singles victory since March 1 enabled the Nuggets to extend their winning
streak in GCAC regular-season matches to 45. Xavier's men have won 29 straight GCAC matches.
"That was Alex's biggest win since she's been playing for Xavier," Nuggets coach Alan Green
said of the sophomore. "When she was down 5-3 I talked to her about keeping balls in the court,
not winning. It all came together for her after that. She really helped bail out this team today."
Both Xavier teams are ranked 24th in the NAIA, and both finished 8-0 in the GCAC.
The women are 12-5 overall and have won 10 of their past 11 matches, and the men are 10-8.
Mobile's men are 7-3 and 5-2, and the women are 7-4 and 4-3.
The matches were the home finale for the Nuggets and Rush, who will next compete April 4-6
in the AUM Invitational at Montgomery, Ala.
