Storm cancels Xavier matches in Kentucky

NEW ORLEANS — A weekend winter storm — including a predicted 3-6
inches of snow — canceled Xavier University of Louisiana's men's
and women's tennis matches in Columbia, Ky., against Union (Ky.) on Friday and
Lindsey Wilson on Saturday.
To replace the canceled matches, Xavier landed a spot in the AUM Invitational
at Montgomery, Ala., on April 4-6. Xavier will be one of 13 schools in the event
and one of seven with both teams ranked in this week's NAIA top 25.
To make room for the AUM tournament, Xavier moved its matches at Alcorn State
from April 6 to April 13, one day after the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference in
Jackson, Miss. Starting time will be 1 p.m.
Xavier's rained-out home matches Feb. 22 against GCAC opponent Spring Hill
were rescheduled for 3 p.m. next Friday (March 14) at UNO Wow Café Tennis Center.
Xavier's women (7-4) are ranked 23rd in the NAIA, and the men (6-5) are 24th.
