NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana's men's and women's tennis teams
opened their Gulf Coast Athletic Conference schedules Saturday with victories over
Belhaven and Tougaloo at UNO Wow Café Tennis Center. All the scores were 9-0.
Two Xavier players — Mario Myles of the Gold Rush and Yuliem Dominguez of
the Gold Nuggets — did not lose a game in winning two singles matches and
two doubles matches apiece.
Xavier's women, ranked 23rd in the NAIA, snapped a three-match losing streak and
improved to 4-4 for the season. Xavier's 24th-ranked men (3-5) ended a four-match
losing streak.
