ALMA MATER
In the Mississippi Valley,
In the Crescent Bend
Stands our loved and noble Xavier,
Far her praises send.
Refrain:
Wave her colors bear them onward
Gold and white so true
Hail to thee, all hail, dear Xavier
Hail, all hail, X.U.!
Xavier, ever be our guide
And lead us on the way,
Through life's journey, onward, upward
To the eternal day. (Refrain)

Gold Rush still 11th in NAIA rankings
January 9, 2008
NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana remained at No. 11 in the NAIA Division I
men's basketball coaches poll released Wednesday.
It's the third consecutive ranking in which the Gold Rush is 11th. It also occurred
on Dec. 5 and Dec. 11. In the only other ranking of the 2007-08 season, Xavier was
10th in the preseason poll released Oct. 31.
Xavier is 12-2 overall and shares first place in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference
with LSU-Shreveport and Mobile. LSUS (13-0) is fourth in this week's rankings —
the Pilots moved up one place — and received two of 11 first-place votes. Xavier will
visit LSUS on Jan. 23 and host the Pilots on Feb. 14.
Mountain State (14-0) of Beckley, W.Va., is No. 1 for the third consecutive ranking and
received the other nine first-place votes.
Xavier will play GCAC and city rival SUNO (3-5, 0-2) at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at The Barn.
It will be the first home game in 37 days for the Gold Rush.
The next coaches poll will be announced Jan. 16.
