Langston goes 2-0 in Xavier Classic again

NEW ORLEANS — Dominique Thomas had 13 points, five assists and three
steals Friday to lead Langston to a 52-45 women's basketball victory over
Dillard in the
Xavier Classic at The Barn.
The Lady Lions (6-1), ranked 14th in NAIA Division I, finished 2-0 in
the six-team event for the second consecutive year
and won for the 32nd time in 35 games.
Jenissa Harris scored 11 points for Langston, and Jamie Skinner and Bianca Bolden scored eight apiece.
Sandra Nweke led Dillard (4-2) with 14 points and eight rebounds. Meaquell Lewis scored 10 points and Loretta
Martin eight. The Lady Blue Devils were 1-1 in the tourney.
Langston trailed 15-10 through nine minutes, then outscored Dillard 23-6 during
the next 15 1/2 minutes to take control.
Dillard outshot Langston 39 to 37 percent from the floor but committed 30 turnovers,
eight more than the Lady Lions.
