For immediate release . . . October 20, 2007
BATON ROUGE, La. — Results of the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Cross
Country Championships at Highland Road Park were voided after many runners
in both races failed to run the required distances Saturday.
GCAC coaches voted to use the results from the NAIA Region XIII Championships
at Mount Berry, Ga., on Nov. 3 to determine the GCAC's individual and team
champions and all-conference runners.
Xavier University of Louisiana was the host of the GCAC meet, which also
included teams from Belhaven, Loyola, Mobile, SUNO, Spring Hill and Tougaloo.
The women's race was 5,000 meters, and the men's race was 8,000 meters.
The Region XIII meet will use the same distances.
