ALMA MATER
In the Mississippi Valley,
In the Crescent Bend
Stands our loved and noble Xavier,
Far her praises send.
Refrain:
Wave her colors bear them onward
Gold and white so true
Hail to thee, all hail, dear Xavier
Hail, all hail, X.U.!
Xavier, ever be our guide
And lead us on the way,
Through life's journey, onward, upward
To the eternal day. (Refrain)

For immediate release . . . January 6, 2007
Box Score
NEW ORLEANS — Marcus Yeager scored 23 points Saturday, including four
3-pointers in the final six minutes, to help Mobile defeat Xavier 51-44
in a Gulf Coast Athletic Conference men's basketball game at The Barn.
Aaron Burgess had career-highs of 13 points and 13 rebounds for Xavier
(7-5 overall, 0-2 GCAC). Burgess was the Gold Rush's only double-figure scorer.
Kelechi Okoroha's basket with 6:19 remaining gave Xavier its only lead
of the second half, 39-37, but Yeager put Mobile (8-6, 2-0) ahead to
stay 29 seconds later with a 3-pointer. Yeager hit three more treys, the
last with 1:22 remaining to make it 49-42, and finished with a
season-high seven.
Xavier shot a season-low 28.9 percent from the floor, including 2 of 18
from behind the arc.
Mobile snapped Xavier's eight-game home winning streak.
Xavier's next game will start at 7:30 p.m. Monday against GCAC member
and fifth-ranked LSU-Shreveport.
