ALMA MATER
In the Mississippi Valley,
In the Crescent Bend
Stands our loved and noble Xavier,
Far her praises send.
Refrain:
Wave her colors bear them onward
Gold and white so true
Hail to thee, all hail, dear Xavier
Hail, all hail, X.U.!
Xavier, ever be our guide
And lead us on the way,
Through life's journey, onward, upward
To the eternal day. (Refrain)

Okoroha, Dumas lead Gold Rush rout of Wiley
For immediate release . . . December 31, 2006
Box Score
SHREVEPORT, La. — Kelechi Okoroha scored 17 of his career-high 22 points in
the second half Sunday, and Shaun Dumas had a career-high-tying 13
assists to lead Xavier University of Louisiana to a 92-66 men's basketball
victory against Wiley.
The Gold Rush (7-3) shot 58.5 percent from the floor for the second
time this season and snapped a two-game losing streak.
Okoroha also had a career-high five assists and grabbed six rebounds.
Olumide Olafioye and Alfred Williams scored 15 points apiece for
Xavier. Mark Stewart scored 14, and Dannie Woods had 10.
Terrell Jacobs scored 30 points for Wiley (6-5). Hector Garza scored
12, and Tremaine Enoch had 11.
Xavier defeated Wiley for the second time in three games this season
and avenged a 79-61 loss at Wiley on Dec. 6. The game was a late addition
to both teams' schedules after the cancellation of the Hoopin' in Holidays
Tournament at Los Angeles. That tournament, scheduled for Dec. 27-29,
was scratched in late November.
The Gold Rush led 41-25 at halftime and held a double-digit lead the
final 25 minutes. Xavier's points and winning margin were its largest of
the season.
"That's probably the best we've played this season," Xavier Coach Dannton
Jackson said.
Xavier will open its Gulf Coast Athletic Conference schedule at 7:30
p.m. Thursday at Tougaloo. The Rush's next home game will start at 7 p.m.
Saturday against Mobile in The Barn.
