ALMA MATER
In the Mississippi Valley,
In the Crescent Bend
Stands our loved and noble Xavier,
Far her praises send.
Refrain:
Wave her colors bear them onward
Gold and white so true
Hail to thee, all hail, dear Xavier
Hail, all hail, X.U.!
Xavier, ever be our guide
And lead us on the way,
Through life's journey, onward, upward
To the eternal day. (Refrain)

Some food for thought

Mindful of the total development of his student-athletes, Xavier Coach Dannton Jackson took his men's basketball team
to the school cafeteria one evening in November for 2 1/2 hours of volunteer work under the supervision of cafeteria director Pam Rivers-Smith.
"They cooked, they served, they did everything," Jackson said. It was a different setting for the Gold Rush to
apply strategy and teamwork to a goal-oriented project.
