ALMA MATER
In the Mississippi Valley,
In the Crescent Bend
Stands our loved and noble Xavier,
Far her praises send.
Refrain:
Wave her colors bear them onward
Gold and white so true
Hail to thee, all hail, dear Xavier
Hail, all hail, X.U.!
Xavier, ever be our guide
And lead us on the way,
Through life's journey, onward, upward
To the eternal day. (Refrain)

Gold Nuggets' Bell ranked 14th in NAIA singles
For immediate release . . . December 6, 2006
NEW ORLEANS — Dominique Bell of Xavier University of Louisiana is No. 14
in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's NAIA fall women's singles rankings released Friday.
|
It's the highest NAIA ranking for Bell, a junior from Jackson, Miss.
Her previous high was 20th. Bell was 32nd in the final 2004-05 ranking as a sophomore,
and she was 30th as a freshman in 2003-04. Bell and Xavier did not compete in 2005-06
because of the effects of Hurricane Katrina.
Bell, a two-time Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Year, is the only GCAC player to appear
in the fall rankings. The ITA rated 50 male and female singles players
and 25 male and female doubles teams. Belhaven, Spring Hill and Tougaloo also
field men's and women's teams in the GCAC, and Mobile fields a women's team.
Xavier will play its first men's and women's dual matches of the spring semester in late January.
