Cleaves, Hamilton on preseason all-GCAC team

NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana guards Jarryn Cleaves and Kojavona Hamilton were chosen to the preseason all-Gulf Coast Athletic Conference women's basketball team by the league's head coaches.
Cleaves, a junior from Memphis, Tenn., averaged a team-leading 12.5 points per game in 2004-05 and was all-GCAC. Hamilton, a sophomore from LaPlace, La., was second on the team with an 8.6 scoring average and was selected GCAC Freshman of the Year in 2004-05.
Xavier will play the Houston Jaguars in a 6 p.m. home exhibition today and begin its regular season next Friday against Westmont in the Robert Morris Las Vegas Classic.
