LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. — Xavier University of Louisiana's cross country teams recorded seven individual season bests Saturday — including all five men's runners — in the Walt Disney World Classic at the Disney Wide World of Sports Complex.

The five Gold Rush runners — Darren Wallace, Chris Butler, Joshua Miles, Bryan Khan and Joe Drexler-Dreis — collectively shaved approximately five minutes off their previous 8,000-meter times of the season. Wallace and Khan each improved on their season bests for the third consecutive meet.

Wallace led Xavier for the fifth time in as many meets this season. He ran the course in 28 minutes, 13.84 seconds and finished 109th out of 239 runners. Butler was 111th in 28:25.66, which was nearly two mintes faster than his previous best this season.

Setting season bests for Xavier in the 5,000-meter women's race were Stacey Young and Amani Harlee. Young finished 143rd out of 287 runners in 21:50.61, nearly a minute faster than in the Rhodes Invitational last week, and Harlee was 174th in 22:25.32, an improvement of approximately 30 seconds.

Ebony Harding was the fastest Gold Nugget for the fifth time in as many races this year. Harding's 21:37.14 ranked 135th.

Xavier scored 588 points to finish 20th out of 30 teams in the men's division and 667 points to finish 24th out of 36 women's teams. UCF won the men's title with 60 points, and Brigham Young won the women's with 35. Individual champions were Wilbourn Kosgei of Warner Southern (25:23.89) and Jael Koech of Florida Southern (17:52.03).

The meet was the last of the regular season for Xavier, which will compete Oct. 21 in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Championships at Clinton, Miss.
