Henning joins Xavier as head athletics trainer For immediate release . . . August 31, 2006 NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana has hired Christie Henning as its head athletics trainer, Athletics Director Dennis Cousin announced Thursday. Henning's position will be funded through an agreement between Xavier and Ochsner Health System's sports medicine division. Henning, 25, is a native of Marrero, La., in suburban New Orleans. She was a dean's list student at Southeastern Louisiana University, where she graduated in 2004, and received a master's degree in May from Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn. For the past two years Henning was a graduate assistant athletic trainer for Vanderbilt Sports Medicine and the head athletic trainer at East Literature Magnet High School in Nashville. She also worked in 2005 on the fitness staff of the Vanderbilt Orthopaedic Institute and spent six years at Southeastern as a student athletic trainer. Henning has earned National Athletic Trainers Association board certification and is an NATA member. |
