5-3 overall, 0-0 Gulf Coast Athletic Conference

•  Sydney Coleman became the only Xavier newcomer since 2003-04 to score in double figures in first seven games of a season
•  Extended a school record with its 13th consecutive winning season
•  Extended a school record with its 22nd consecutive non-losing season
•  Shared the GCAC regular-season championship with Philander Smith — XU's second consecutive regular-season championship — and it's the first time in 26 years that the Gold Rush won back-to-back GCAC championships
•  Qualified for the Buffalo Funds-NAIA Division I National Championship for the third consecutive year and the seventh time in nine seasons
•  Ranked in all 13 NAIA Division I Coaches' Top 25 polls, with a high of 11th on Jan 22, a tie for 16th on March 6 entering the national tournament and a rank of 24th in the postseason poll
•  Xavier's current streak is 24 consecutive polls, third longest among teams in the top 25 of March 27
•  The appearance in the postseason top 25 was the 62nd time overall during Dannton Jackson's 10 seasons as head coach
•  Tied for first place in the GCAC with Philander Smith
•  Played the first game in the new Convocation Center on Nov. 3 — an 80-66 victory against Morehouse in which XU led by 35 in the second half
•  Won five games after trailing by double digits
•  Produced a pair of six-game win streaks
•  Won its first five GCAC games for the first time since the 2003-04 season
•  Won 12-of-17 road games, including 10 of the first 11
•  3-0 in overtime, Xavier's best mark since going 4-0 in 1992-93
•  Won three of first four GCAC games, two on the road, after trailing at halftime
•  Won 45 of last 51 home games
•  50-4 in non-conference home games during the last six seasons
•  66-3 since November 2009 when making more free throws than opponents — 17-2 in 2012-13
•  Won its season opener for the 17th consecutive time
•  Denzell Erves' 17 double-doubles this season and 24 in his career are the most by an XU player since the start of 2003-04
•  Denzell Erves became the first Gold Rush player of the past nine seasons to record 20 or more points and 10 or more rebounds in consecutive games
•  Denzell Erves became the fourth Gold Rush player of the past nine seasons to grab 15 rebounds in a game — in a 73-63 victory at Belhaven on Dec. 31
•  Wanto Joseph produced four point-assist double-doubles, the most by an XU player since Shaun Dumas had five in 2006-07
•  Wanto Joseph made 12 free throws in a 78-70 home victory against Tuskegee — the most in a game by a Gold Rush player since February 2009 — and made all 10 of his attempts in the final four minutes
•  Won 70-68 in overtime at home against SUNO on Jan. 14 after Wanto Joseph's basket with seven-tenths of a second remaining
•  Won 84-79 at home against then-NAIA No. 22 Philander Smith to end the Panthers' nine-game win streak
•  Set school record for free-throw accuracy by making all 18 attempts — 15 in the second half — in a 63-42 GCAC home victory vs. Edward Waters
•  In a 54-34 victory at Dillard, Xavier allowed its fewest points in a road game since resuming its program in the 1967-68 season
•  Shot 71.7 percent from the floor — XU's best in nearly 200 games — in a 76-61 victory Nov. 24 against Wiley in the Memphis HBCU Classic
•  At the Memphis HBCU Classic, XU earned back-to-back victories at a neutral site for the first time since the Loyola Classic in November 2004 and for the first time at a neutral site outside of New Orleans since the Mobile Classic in December 2002
•  Three players — Denzell Erves (three times), Wanto Joseph (twice) and Anthony Simmons — combined to win six GCAC Player of the Week awards

National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics
The Xavier Gold Rush and Gold Nuggets compete in Division I of the NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) as a member of the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference (GCAC). Xavier fields men's teams in basketball, cross country, tennis and track and field and women's teams in basketball, cross country, tennis, track and field and volleyball.
