2008 NOTES
• All 10 teams qualify for the GCAC Tournament.
• For the second consecutive season, highest surviving seeds host in each round. Top four seeds host quarterfinal games. Top six seeds receive first-round byes.
• 2006-07 Recap: Xavier and Tougaloo shared the regular-season championship, LSU-Shreveport defeated Mobile 82-62 for the tournament championship . . . All three schools advanced to NAIA Division I National Tournament . . . LSUS was GCAC tourney champion the past two seasons.
• Conferences with 10 or more members receive two automatic bids to the men's NAIA National Tournament. In the GCAC, the league designates those bids for the champions of the regular season and the GCAC Tournament. If regular-season champ also wins the conference tournament, then the GCAC tournament runner-up gets the second automatic bid.
• The NAIA Division I National Tournament will be March 19-25 at Municipal Auditorium, Kansas City, Mo.

National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics

The Xavier Gold Rush and Gold Nuggets compete in Division I of the NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) as a member of the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference (GCAC). Xavier fields men's and women's teams in basketball, cross country and tennis.
