Bruce Seals was an NAIA men's basketball All-American in 1971-72 and 1972-73,
then played two seasons (1973-75) with the ABA's Utah Stars and three more (1975-78)
with the NBA's Seattle SuperSonics.

(No. 3) is the father of Xavier women's basketball associate head coach Darrilyn Broussard.

The Xavier Gold Rush and Gold Nuggets compete in Division I of the NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) as a member of the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference (GCAC).
Xavier fields men's teams in basketball, cross country and tennis and women's teams in basketball, cross country, tennis and volleyball.
