Step 1: Complete XUCOP Pre-Pharmacy Requirements.pdf Once most of the XUCOP Pre-Pharmacy Requirements have been completed, you are ready to begin the application process. Although some of the pre-requisites can be missing at the time you are applying, ALL XUCOP Pre-Pharmacy Requirements MUST be completed prior to beginning the Pharm.D. Program.

Step 2: The Pharmacy College Admissions Test (PCAT) is no longer required for admission to the College of Pharmacy.

Step 3: Complete PharmCAS application available at www.pharmcas.org.

Submit a College of Pharmacy Application through the centralized application system under PharmCAS. PharmCAS' WebAdMIT allows an applicant to upload an application, grade information, required recommendations, statement of interest, PCAT scores, and TOEFEL scores (if applicable). Application open in mid-July 2018. Deadline to submit application through PharmCAS is January 7, 2019. The application process is extensive, so allow ample time to complete it. Step 4: XUCOP Supplemental Application Upon completion of the PharmCAS application and satisfactorily meeting the GPA requirements,the COP's Supplemental Application email will be sent to qualified applicants and MUST be returned within two weeks of receipt of the XUCOP Supplemental Application.

Step 5: On-Site Interview Upon completion of the PharmCAS and XUCOP Supplemental Applications, the Admissions Committee will review completed applications and may extend an interview to qualified applicants. if you are extended an interview, it is mandatory that the applicant make a personal appearance on campus. It is anticipated that interviews will begin in December and extend through March. Applicants invited for an interview will be notified by email indicating the date and time their interview will take place at Xavier University College of Pharmacy. Applicants will be interviewed by two faculty members. The interview is designed to evaluate the applicants' interpersonal, leadership and problem-solving skills. An interview score is calculated and is utilized in making admission decisions.

Applicants who satisfy the following minimum requirements will be considered for an interview:

  • Completion of the PharmCAS and supplemental applications by the stated deadline
  • Submission of the required documents by the stated deadline
  • Pre-pharmacy preferred grade point average of 2.75
  • Math-Science preferred grade point average of 2.75

Please note that meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee the applicant an interview with the College of Pharmacy. If an applicant is granted an interview, the College of Pharmacy will contact the applicant by email and/or telephone to schedule an appointment. Under no circumstances will an interview be conducted by telephone.

Upon completion of the interview process, the applicants will be notified of their status via mail during the Spring semester. There are three possible decisions: acceptance, wait list, and denial. Internal transfer applicants who are denied admission to the College of Pharmacy may reapply a second time.

If the applicant is not successful on the second attempt, he/she must obtain a science-related degree before re-applying. Applicants who have been accepted to the College of Pharmacy must submit a non-refundable deposit of $500.00. The deposit is due two weeks after the acceptance letter has been mailed to the student.

Students meeting one or more of the following conditions will be automatically enrolled in the college's Academic Enrichment Program (AEP):

  • Math-Science preferred GPA between 2.75 and 3.0
  • Pre-pharmacy preferred GPA between 2.75 and 3.0

Eligibility & Requirements

AM I ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?

You are eligible to apply to the Pharm.D. Program after completing the XUCOP Pre Pharmacy Requirements. All eligible applicants must fulfill the following:

  • A preferred 2.75 Pre-Pharmacy GPA* (**GPA calculated based on XUCOP Pre-Pharmacy Course Requirements)*
  • A preferred 2.75 Math Science GPA
  • XUCOP PRE-PHARMACY REQUIREMENT
