Credit By Exam

Xavier University of Louisiana offers credit in certain subject areas through the Advanced Placement (AP) Program of the College Entrance Examination Board, the College Level Examination Program (CLEP) Subject Examinations, and the International Baccalaureate Program. A maximum of thirty (30) semester hours of credit by examination may be accepted towards the degree. Some graduate/ medical/professional schools may not accept credits by examination.

Xavier University uses the recommendations of the American Council on Education (ACE) in developing its policies for credit-granting scores. However, Xavier’s policy may not be identical to that recommended by the ACE.

Applicants for admission to Xavier should have their test scores sent to the Office of Admissions, 1 Drexel Drive, New Orleans, LA 70125. Continuing students who wish to report scores should send them to the Registrar’s Office.

Credit by Examination - AP

Students must earn a minimum score of three (3) on a five-point scale in each subject for college credit. For information on the AP program, visit the College Board website at www.collegeboard.org/ap.
