College of Arts and Sciences
A student who desires readmission to the College of Arts & Sciences after an interruption of his/her attendance for any reason must submit a Request for Readmission application at least one month prior to the beginning of the session he/she plans to enter. The petition is presented to the College Academic Standing Committee for a decision.
Students who left Xavier with grade point average less than 2.0 when he or she left Xavier must:
- Write a letter (no longer than one page) to the College Academic Standing Committee indicating: the reasons for poor academic performance; how this has been remediated; and what changes have been made to assure improvement if readmitted.
- Schedule an appointment with the Counseling Center. Students re-admitted after academic dismissal are placed on strict probation.
If a student is denied readmission by the College Academic Standing Committee, the student has a right to a written appeal of the decision. This appeal must be received in the Office of Admissions by July 1. The appeals committee meets only once a year in July.
