of art, one of America’s most acclaimed contemporary artists and a
1992 recipient of the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur “Genius Grant.”
- Dr.
Michael White, professor of Spanish and eminent jazz historian and performer,
awarded the Royal Norwegian National Music Medal of Honor by the King of
Norway.
- Sister Grace Mary Flickinger, professor of biology, recipient
of a Sears Roebuck Foundation Teaching Excellence and Campus Leadership Award.
- Dr.
JW Carmichael, professor of chemistry and pre-med adviser, recipient of Harold
W. McGraw Prize in Education. Always innovative in its academic offerings,
Xavier recently added computer engineering as a major, creative writing as
a minor, and a new Entrepreneurship Program.
The University offers an array
of exceptional educational opportunities, from honors programs and a student-produced
interdisciplinary e-journal, to rapidly increasing travel-abroad opportunities.
